Great book for September 12, 2008

I bought this book in Bangkok during my trip to Thailand because: 1. I want to have it as a souvenir picture book for keepsake, and 2. I want to see where else I can go to when I visit Thailand next time. Thailand is so big and diverse, my 2-week trip was obviously not long enough for me to see everything. This book is perfect because it is not too long that would scare away some people, but it provides very captivating descriptions of attractions with maps and web links at the back of the book if you wish to explore them in more details.
This is NOT a book for history or geography buffs who wish to learn about Thailand in detail. This is more like a movie trailer that let you know about the exciting things that exist there and make you want to go and experience it yourself. The book is divided by regions: The North, North East, Central, Bangkok, and South Thailand. Each region then briefly introduces its history and some of its most popular cities and districts with tons of amazing pictures with captions that tell you what and where it is. There are also pages that talk about traditions and cultural festivals and when they are held -- a good info for those who wish to see more.
After reading it for a couple minutes, I found myself fascinated by pages after pages of large, beautiful pictures and paragraphs that never cease to generate my interest in visiting this place. I highly recommend this book.
